Theragami™ workshops are six weekly group sessions, one hourly session per week. The activity is suitable for children and teens ages 6-15 years old. In order to give special attention to each child., we designed small groups (6 – 8 children per group.) Though the activity fits multi-age setting, the children are grouped according to their age. In these session, children learn the technique and language of Origami. They observe and listen to verbal instructions demonstrated on a big piece of paper, and then carry them on their own by manipulating special Japanese Origami papers into three dimensional models, without using any material other than the paper. They can later on use the models they folded as gifts, decorations or even for personal purposes. In the course of the session, the children are exposed to math concepts and other curriculum areas such as science or social studies. They can also use the Origami workshop to create an Origami model for a class project. The activity is enjoyable and does not require any special talent or previous experience.
